This is my Raspberry Glaze with variegated Slate Blue (MC6G) over the Top.  It’s on that Calico Clay and I have a chop mark on the Foot of the Raspberry.

The really interesting thing is that this Raspberry turns WHITE at the bottom and in the stamp chop mark?  Hummmm I’ve never seen that before on my brown clay?

He is always posting pictures of his PIZZA and making me hungry every time I visit his Blog  http://tgraypots.blogspot.com/  If you search his blog, he even shares his pizza dough recipe.

It seems alot of potters in BLOG land are very good cooks and bakers….me well not so much.  However, I was hungry.  Dough from scratch?  Not likely for me so I found….my favorite Pillsbury Dough boy, you know the white rather plump one….

I do wonder why they call coffee a “cupa Joe”  never really understood that?

I was thinkin maybe even Soup and salad or Soup and Sandwich?  These would do double duty as a small plate and Soup Bowl.

Hummmmm?  Added value seems to be big right now and so….

Not sure if these will sell?  There are new for me….I’ll make a few groups of 2 and we’ll see on Saturday at OCKTOBERFEST in Castle Rock (Oct 3,2009  8am-12:00 for me).

Pie Plates with or without “Frilly” edges.

I guess they could double as serving platters,Quiche, or a baked casserole?

DSC00018

Hand building butter dishes.  I had some folks ask for butter dishes with handles.  SO I will be playing around with these and adding feet, handles, designs, etc.  I like the slumped lid as well so I think I’ll keep that too?

Bright Sky Blue (MC6G)works well, covers well and is smooth to the touch on Calico Clay by Laguna.  On the rim and slanted is Licorice and they work well together on this clay.  It takes wax resist well and I used an under glaze for the stamping design and letters.  Not too bad.

DSC00012

DSC00013

Pretty consistent weather on top, bottom or in the middle firing.

DSC00014

Field Mouse Brown (MC6G) and waterfall brown on the top again slanted a bit for more flow.

DSC00015

Covers well and Field Mouse brown alone can be a bit matt but smooth.

DSC00016

Val Turquoise glaze is a keeper as well!  Quite nice.

I’m not exactly sure what I mean with this recently finished mask: chalk it up to my own frailties and insecurities. Hiding seems to be the central theme behind my work (at least as I see it) and I’ve spent a lot of time interpreting this theme in as many ways as possible. And, I’m not finished yet…

Currently, I feel as if I’m on auto pilot - plugging away in the studio and “Birdgirl” is emerging wishing for an out. I definitely have “got the urge for going” and I’ll have to let it go…… (for now)
