Life can be a wild ride and I find it a good idea to hold on to those small, but important, details. This little mask is doing just that….
Custom Set orders

I happened to be at work (Real Estate) the other day when I received a phone call from Laura. She lives in the Larkspur area just outside of Castle Rock. She wanted to commission me to do a set of plates for her and could she meet with me to discuss the details.
I had her come to my office to meet and we went over what she might like. Dinner plate, salad plate, bowls, and mugs. She brought along 2 bowls she had purchased from me in the Summer at the Farmer’s market to show me the glaze she liked.
Hummm ok a set of 8 for each one is in the works. I should have a bisque set for her to pick up in about a week. That way she can see if they fit in her cabinets, likes the shape, etc. If everything is OK, than I will make her a set of 8 matching. She understands that they are homemade and will not be prefect but she is excited.
I will be making 3 bowls since her and her husband are having a hard time deciding on the shape of those. Once the bisque ones are approved, I will than give her a set of 9 really (incase she breaks one). I am thinking about 3-4 wks tops on those.
Got an email about my tumblers and I am in the process of making those as well for resale. That’s about it at the moment, Farmer’s market begins in July so I have time to sort that out, etc.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I feel like I have a giant head full of memories that elude me. Oh yes, they’re all still there somewhere - but retrieving them is another matter all together…..

Hey, what is this little guy up to - and do we really want to know? When I think of all the failed relationships in the world, I imagine that the evil twin has been busy indeed…

I’ve often heard this word duo uttered when someone is being extra kind or sweet. My granny used to say it to me and this is what I imagined (and still imagine)…..
I know I haven’t been very active with this blog lately….and it’s not because I haven’t been working and creating! It’s just that I’ve been working out a lot of new ideas and glazes. Lately, I’ve been spending a lot of time on stains and the possibilities are endless. Of course, the technical aspects are alway something I must tackle “head on”!
What’s NEW?

Chicken COOKER similar to a chicken” beer can” cooker only this one you cook with the chicken in the oven. Adding a nice sauce in the middle cup makes it boil over in the chicken. Ummmmmm YUMMY!
Than a Platter for the Cole’s Family in Kentucky.
They wanted a bit of a swirl in the middle not just a solid color.
And lastly is a soup “pot” in earth tone colors
I choose a flat lid for this one…I thought well…it looked better NO?
Lots of Color but rather subtle I think over all!
Jan 30,2010 Hummmmm back on track!

Finally…after the holidays, cold weather, changes, killer cold, visiting relatives (always a GOOD THING)…I’m back on track. The kiln is loaded and FIRING. . .
I think it’s just taking a few weeks break to get back on track. Lots of reasons but most likely I just needed a break.
Do artist’s just take time….. sometimes…..A break from clay to just get on with life and all the possibilities? It is fear to get started? Just a break? loss of creativity? Lazy?
HUmmm maybe all of the above? All I know,is I needed a break. Took it and now I’m back on track! Whew! Just a few weeks and thank goodness for the folks requesting pieces, they have been patient. All Orders should be complete as early as Sunday! Whew…..and My studio is clean, ready to go into 2010 . . . . . . Finally!

Oh, to see the world this way! I long to be able to do it, but so many impish little dark things keep clouding the vision. Guess I’ll just have to settle for the mask seeing a perfect world….
The size of this small raku piece is 2 1/2″ high by 1 3/4″ wide.
They are all a DRYIN and waiting to be bisque fired!

Paula wanted to give her father a “Special Gift”. He likes the family name and so she thought a Platter with “The Cole’s” on it might be nice. Here you go Paula…It’s drying and should be in the mail in about 2 wks or sooner.
Melody wanted a SOUP Tureen with a ladle. I am looking at a flat lid for this and it’s rather wide and Deep. Let me know if that’s what you might like? It will have handles, etc.
“Now Jillian wanted a Beer can Chicken Roaster”. She asked a Weeee bit late ( right before Christmas) so we agreed that I would make one but not in time for Christmas.
This is the middle piece for the chicken and you put the sauce in the middle of this. Bubbles up nicely into your chicken! Glad you could wait a bit…. I think this shape turned out nice! Will have handles, etc.
