Design TIPS on Pottery

Filed in Potter

Well, living in colorado or maybe even midwest or Out west there is “branding” that happens to cattle as well as horses, etc.  It has me intrigued and is showing up in he pottery, and has for awhile.

I sell real estate as well as pottery and I was recently invited to a grand opening of standstone american ranches.  she really put on a nice bbq, old fashioned, included was branding of cattle, etc.  everyone invited had a gift in you car when they went to pick up he car from the valet service that was set up.

In this gift box was this branding iron that was a replica of what they were using on the cattle, etc.  well, what to do with a branding iron?

Hummmmm

I thought I might use it on some pottery and bring it to you show in parker in may.  I might even give the folks back at the ranch a call and let them know I have something special you might want to see!

So in keeping with that “branding thought” and little stamps, I came up with some cool ways to get designs on pottery.  These are rubber stamp designs you can get at walmart or a craft store.  I use a cake wooden wheel to roll the back on the rubber stamp into we clay.  Than I might add some designs of we own to enhance the look.  hummmmm…
